The Titleist GT2 fairway wood is a custom-built, pre-owned fairway wood assembled to your specifications by The Tour Truck in Oceanside, California. We fit a pre-owned GT2 head — Titleist's forgiveness-oriented GT fairway, with a forged face that wraps under the sole to protect ball speed from tight lies — to the shaft, loft and length you choose, then build it in-house to tour standards. What is the Titleist GT2 fairway wood, and who is it for?

The GT2 is the forgiving head in Titleist's GT fairway line, built for players who want consistent speed and launch regardless of where on the face they make contact. Where a driver is judged almost entirely on tee shots, a fairway wood has to work off the deck too — and every piece of engineering here is aimed at that harder job.

  • Forged L-Cup Face. Titleist introduced a forged face insert that wraps around the bottom of the club. That matters because fairway woods are most often struck low on the face, where a conventional face loses ball speed. The wrap-under design preserves speed and launch on exactly those strikes — including when you are picking it clean off a tight lie.
  • Deeper, more forward CG. Titleist shifted the centre of gravity both lower and closer to the face. Lower helps the ball up; more forward keeps spin down. Together they produce the higher, longer flight a fairway wood needs without ballooning.
  • Seamless Thermoform Crown. A lightweight polymer crown, considerably lighter than stainless steel, freeing mass to be repositioned where it does more good — and tuned by Titleist to keep their signature sound and feel.

It suits you if you find fairway woods hard to launch from the deck, or if your strikes tend to sit low on the face and you want a head that holds its speed anyway.

Available here in 15°, 18°, 21°. Titleist's SureFit hosel gives you further loft and lie adjustment after the build.

Which loft should I pick?

This is the question fairway wood buyers get wrong most often, so it is worth answering properly:

  • 15° (3 wood) — the longest of the set. Most useful off the tee on tight holes and on long par 5s from a clean lie.
  • 18° (5 wood) — the most versatile loft, and the one many players get more use out of than a 3 wood. Easier to launch from the deck.
  • 21° (7 wood) — increasingly chosen over a long iron or hybrid. Launches high, lands soft, works from poor lies.

If you already carry a driving iron or a long hybrid, email customerservice@thetourtruck.com with your current set makeup and we will tell you which loft we would build.

How much does a custom-built GT2 fairway cost compared to new?

Custom GT2 fairway builds start at $249.99. Premium aftermarket shafts are available at additional cost, so your final price depends on the shaft you select on this page.

Both the head and the shaft are pre-owned, and that is where the saving comes from. A premium aftermarket shaft is the most expensive component in a new custom build; buying that shaft pre-owned rather than new is what brings the whole club within reach.

Put together, a custom-built GT2 fairway from us commonly lands at around 50% of what the equivalent new build costs at retail — new head, new aftermarket shaft, fitted and assembled. The exact gap depends on the specification you choose.

What condition are your pre-owned GT2 heads in?

Every custom club build is offered in three head grades:

Good — clear signs of play. Sole wear, face marks and scratching are visible, and the finish may show wear at the edges. All blemishes are cosmetic and do not affect playability at all.

Very Good — normal signs of play, above average for the model. Light signs of use such as sole scratches and light crown or face marks consistent with a head of its age.

Excellent — minimal signs of play. A clean crown with light contact marks on the sole.

Whichever grade you choose, every head is inspected and authenticated by our team before it goes into a build. The photographs on this listing may not be of the exact head you receive, but please refer to our condition guide and the example condition photos provided.

How long does a custom GT2 fairway build take, and how do I specify it?

Allow 1–2 weeks for all custom club orders.

You select the loft, shaft brand, shaft model and flex on this page — choose a shaft brand and the model and flex options for that brand appear. Everything you need to specify a standard-length build is on the page.

For any length alterations, email customerservice@thetourtruck.com after placing your order. If we do not hear from you, we build the club to standard length with the shaft you selected.

Shipping is free via UPS Ground from our Southern California warehouse.
